Sister Dianne to Receive
the 2012 Chalice Award

The Antioch Chalice Award will be presented to someone who exemplifies dedication of his or her life to others, not in sacrifice, but shows an intense effort to a meaningful end. It is his or her commitment to the community of Saint Ignatius of Antioch Parish that keeps our beacon of light shining.

We are thrilled to present this years' Antioch Chalice Award to Sister Dianne Piunno, MA, S.N.D., Pastoral Associate of Saint Ignatius of Antioch Parish. Sister Dianne will receive the award at The Founders' Day Gala on March 24, 2012 at Westwood Country Club. Previous Antioch Chalice Award honorees were Terry Gravens '65 and Reverend James R. McGonegal.

Sister Dianne began her time here at Saint Ignatius of Antioch on August 15, 1991. Her reception of the Chalice Award will help to mark her 20th anniversary! Prior to her work at Saint Ignatius, she was the Administrative Assistant at Notre Dame Academy and Notre Dame College and Director of Residence Halls and Campus Minister at Notre Dame College. She was also the Campus Minister at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin high school. Sister holds a BA from Notre Dame College and an MA from Loyola University, Chicago. Sister Dianne was also instrumental in the founding of our Alumni Association. "Over the years the Alumni Association has allowed the church to flourish," she said. "We are blessed to have a solid foundation of parishioners but the support of our alumni is essential to the success of this parish."

She recalls her first meeting of the Alumni Association with a small group of St. Joseph nuns and a handful of alumni. That association now has more than 6,000 members. It is nearly impossible to speak of our church anywhere in Cleveland and not meet someone that has had a family member attend this school and church. The Saint Ignatius of Antioch family is exponential! We are all so very proud of Sister Dianne and are excited that she has humbly accepted this prestigious award.

The Reverend James R. McGonegal (at left middle) as he received the Antioch Chalice Award at the 2011 Founders' Day Gala. Father McGonegal was honored for his liturgical leadership, love of the Gospel, pastoral care, and his vision for the future of our city, our parish, and our school.

Terry Gravens (at left bottom) as he received the Antioch Chalice Award at the 2010 Founders' Day Gala. Terry was honored for his tireless dedication, wise counsel, and unwavering commitment to Saint Ignatius of Antioch Parish, its families and school.
