March 12, 2009, Bishop Richard Lennon announced his decision to close Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church.

March 25, 2009 the Parishioners of Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church submitted a formal appeal.

May 1 2009, Bishop Lennon submitted a letter to Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church amending and supplementing his March 12, 2009 letter by informing the parish that it will remain open for four years in order to achieve the directives to: improve Mass attendance, strengthen parish finances, complete needed capital repairs, and remain dedicated to its outreach ministries.

The Founder's Day Gala is an effort to respond to the above directives.

We have had great success with this event, raising well over $200,000 in the past two years! Because of this enthusiastic outpouring, we have been able to fulfill some of our parish's many needs, such as the church roof restoration, repairs to the church windows, bell tower renovation assessment, church foundation renovation assessment, installation of a state-of-the-art gym floor, renovation of the Boulevard School Building and more. Additionally, Saint Ignatius of Antioch is signing up new parishioners every month and continues its community outreach with the Food Pantry, Share-A-Meal program, social networking, the IBA league and more. Please help our parish continue to strengthen and grow by participating in this year's Gala on March 24, 2012.
